The plus size tide has turned

By: Maria Muratore

Finally the tides have turned on ladies plus size fashion. No longer do plus size women have to feel left out when it comes to buying sexy fashion and lingerie as designers and fashion retailers have realized that just because a woman is a size 18, it doesn't mean that she has to wear clothing that's shaped like a tent. This phenomenon has appeared only in the last five to ten years and it is taking the world by storm. And it's about time - for too long the designing and modeling industry have focused on and pushed the desirability of the waif-like image forgetting that more than half of the nation's population is size 12 and above. It seems that they had forgotten the beauty and sex appeal of plus sized sirens such as Marilyn Monroe who was a size 16.Therefore, with this change in attitude towards plus size clothing, larger sized women will be be able to find more clothing to choose from as more elegant, attractive and sassy designs make their way to these women with curves.

Along with this comes the emergence of gorgeous bras and underwear that are functional and practical, but at the same time showcase and flatter the plus sized figure and showcase it beautifully with maximum femininity. Many popular brands of lingerie and underwear have made it their business to include larger plus sizes in their most feminine, lacy and sexy styles. What a revolution!
